潛望鏡的發明： 世界上最早記載潛望鏡原理的古書，是公元前二世紀中國的《淮南萬畢術》。書中記載了這樣的一段話：「取大鏡高懸，置水盤於其下，則見四鄰矣。」 現代潛艇潛望鏡是在20世紀初發明的。1906年德國海軍建成第一艘潛艇時，已使用了相當完善的光學潛望鏡，由物鏡、轉像系統和目鏡等組成。
